This review is for Jay Jay's Warehouse, Hobart TAS

verified email - 11 May 2013

Though the clothing at Jay Jays is not the best quality, they always have great bargains and they are good for basics like plain tees, singlets and black tights. If you want some relatively cheap, fashionable knitwear they always have a fantastic range and the staff are helpful and lovely, especially the lady that was working on the 09/05/13. That day they had a 3 for 2 deal, and she went out of her way to find me exactly what I wanted, and even though she was busy, engaged me in conversation, which I love! So overall, 4 stars, I have heard they are closing down but hopefully not for a while!

This review is for Taroona Hotel, Taroona TAS

I do like the food at the Taroona hotel, and the service is fine, but I do find it to be quite inconsistent. Sometimes we will go there and the portions will be absolutely massive and other times it will be average, so occasionally you'll end up with way way too much food ordered but they don't warn you that you've ordered way too much for 2-4 people. Last time I was there I had the prawn and chorizo pizza...and there was no chorizo on it! Our server was lovely and gave us some money off the bill, but I was a bit disappointed.

This review is for Dusk, Rosny Park TAS

I have bought gifts on several different occasions from Dusk, and even though candles are not my thing, I've always found the quality and service to be outstanding. The store is a bit cluttered, I'm always scared of knocking things over, but then again I am a clumsy person! They do seem to have a wide range at many different price points and usually have some good specials out the front. The staff are lovely and friendly, and it smells lovely in the store!

This review is for Not Just Bras, Hobart TAS

verified email - 11 May 2013

I visited Not Just Bras to buy my wedding lingerie, and not only did the lady give me wonderful, personal service but I found out I've actually been wearing the wrong sized bras for years! I got a triumph strapless bra which was so comfortable, at $70 is was not too bad a price, especially for the great quality and service. Would definitely return!

This review is for Diamond World, Glenorchy TAS

I bought my mum a pandora ring from Diamond World last Saturday and I was very impressed with the service I received! I put it on layby, and because I had to get back to work the lovely sales assistant put everything aside for me to come back and pay the deposit later. When I picked up the ring a few days later I had a lovely chat to the (different) sales assistant. Overall a very pleasant experience! And my mum loved the ring :)

This review is for St Cloud Perfumery, Hobart TAS

verified email - 09 May 2013

I find the products supplied at St Cloud are consistently good, they have a wide range of products available and the presentation of the store is great, colorful and clutter free, however the service is consistently terrible. Every single time I go in there the staff are either chatting with their friends who are crowding around the counter blocking any actual customers, or they're taking personal phone calls which you can hear every word of in the small store. I find I always have to approach staff members for help rather than it be offered to me. The last time I made a purchase there (Paco Robanne's "Lady Million") I decided not purchase from St Cloud any more. Now I just walk in, try a few testers and walk out again. The staff do not bat an eyelid.

This review is for Hellfire Tattoo Studio, Hobart TAS

verified email - 09 May 2013

I got a tattoo done at Hellfire this afternoon on a whim, and was really pleased with everything. The studio is colourful and welcoming, and the staff are all lovely. This is my second tattoo from Hellfire and my sixth overall, my tattoo artist was Patrick and he's very sweet and nice to talk to. I'm really pleased with my tatt (just a tiny one that only took a few minutes), and would definitely go to Patrick again.

This review is for Darjoh's Asian Cuisine, Bellerive TAS

verified email - 08 May 2013

The food at Darjohs is absolutely beautiful, I always get the Pad Thai or the Mussman curry, the only thing that lets it down is that there is never enough staff. It is a small restaurant but when it's full they definitely need more than one server, because even though there's not that many people you end up having to wait quite long for drinks etc. it is BYO, which is good but there's not enough of a drinks selection readily available for teetotallers. The meal portions are enormous and reasonably priced, but the service could be better, only because the poor server is stressed and rushed from not having enough support, not because they are not doing their best, and therefore is an issue to be addressed by management, not the servers themselves.

This review is for Cooleys Hotel, Moonah TAS

verified email - 08 May 2013

I hadn't been to Cooleys for YEARS until the other day when my lunch date suggested it...I was slightly dubious since I remembered it as a bit run down and full of pokie machines but I was assured that they have been revamped...and have they ever! The atmosphere retains the friendliness of a pub while still serving good old fashioned counter meals (albeit at tables rather than the counter!) my lunch date and I both had the burger with "bad boy" fries and we both agreed that it was the best burger we had had in YEARS! It even came with a full pickle on top and anyone who knows me knows I am mad for pickles. Our server, Leigh, was outstanding, and even took the time to thank me for leaving him a tip instead of ignoring it like most servers do (one of my pet peeves!). Though its a little pricier than most pub meals I think the quality and service are worth the extra few dollars. Will definitely be dining there again in the very near future!

This review is for Commonwealth Bank, Rosny Park TAS

verified email - 08 May 2013

I went into Commonwealth Bank Rosny Park yesterday to change the names on my cards after recently getting married, and was so pleased with the service I received. I was greeted in the bank by a customer service representative, to whom I explained my intentions and she took me straight in to see Carolyn (who was fantastic). She took a copy of my marriage certificate for their records, and, assuming that I would need more copies to change my name on other cards with other institutions offered to give me a few more copies to take with me, which was very kind. Carolyn was very thorough in going through my details and even set me up with a new saver account which now gets me almost double the interest of my previous account! Can't say no to more money. She was very efficient and made a tedious task very enjoyable. I left the bank with a better understanding of my accounts and what the bank has to offer. I must also mention that the commonwealth phone apps are outstanding, I use mine at least 3-4 times a day.
