I had my wedding reception here, and like most brides I worried about whether everything would go okay, and if the guests will like the place and food. I needn't have been concerned.

First, all the staff in the lead up to the wedding were extremely helpful and professional. They didn't get impatient with my endless barrage of emails and questions, and were always happy to help with anything we asked. The great thing was that there were no hidden extras. Things like candelabras, seat covers and sashes were all included in the price unlike some venues.

Secondly, in one of the earlier pre wedding meetings after we booked, the coordinators gave us some great advice and business cards which we took on board. The band they recommended was FANTASTIC. and they also gave business cards and advice for things like the Wedding cake, photographers and make up. They also recommended a fantastic dance instructor and we did our lessons at the venue. We had so much fun and the help was all very much appreciated.

On the day, the set up looked amazing and the staff were so supportive and incredible. The grounds were lovely and although we didn't have too many intentions on having photos in the rooms (before the reception commenced), once the photographer got started, he couldn't stop. The bridal suit was gorgeous and it was a great place to sit and relax and chat with the bridal party before the function.

I can't thank them enough. They weren't pushy or impatient when I had to delay things like the first dance etc because I was talking to guests. They just allowed the day to be ours.

As if things couldn't get better, and then the food came out. While I was too nervous to eat myself, what I did eat was great and my guests are still talking about how good the food was and how it was the first wedding they came away feeling satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food at a wedding. The trio of desserts was sublime!

The venue itself was gorgeous and historical, which was why we chose it in the first place, and there were a lot of people who were difficult to please at that wedding (and many I didn't even know) and they all raved about it. No one complained - miracle. "Flawless" and "Amazing" were just two of the words guests used to describe this place.

The beverage upgrade was also well worth the extra spend as people loved the wine - though I'm not a drinker myself. It was also good that they allowed us to put our own bottle of spirits on the table - many venues we spoke to do not allow that.

Overall, we had a great experience with Ascot House and I couldn't recommend it enough. I guarantee that you are in good hands if you choose this place. I hope I can come back as a guest one day so I can truly enjoy the experience!

Approximate cost: $150 People on a Saturday night = $20,000 + depending on the menu. We chose the four course menu and
