Bought a beautiful gown for an event in November 2015.

When I initially tried the gown on, the cups were too small and the sales assistant assured me that they will alter the cup size for free. After I bought the gown (which came in a carry bag, with no proper dress bag) and went back for alterations, the seamstress told me that it would be about $200 to alter the cup sizes as I was a lot bigger than the cup already in the gown. So I paid extra.

When I tried the altered gown on at home (which came back to me with a proper dress bag), I realised the cups were placed too high so took the gown back. The seamstress told me that the gown would not look as nice if she lowered the cups and tried to talk me out of further alterations. To which I replied, I can't help that my boobs don't sit where the cups are placed and need it changed. So the gown was altered again at no cost and then fit perfectly.

One year later I wore the gown for another event and when I bent my leg to zip up my shoe, the gown split up the centre slit. I did some emergency stitching that held for the night. I also noticed that the stitching on the hem had also come apart.

I took the gown back to the store expecting it to be repaired at no cost to myself. The sales assistant who helped me was new and wasn't sure of the process so told me she'd speak to [Redacted] and give me a call.

Two weeks later I had to go in to the store myself to find out what was going on as no-one had contacted me. The same sales assistant told me firmly but politely, that it would only be repaired if it was less than 6 months old and I had the receipt. Her reasoning being, "how long are they supposed to be responsible for the dresses?" Which is fair reasoning.

So while I don't agree with it, I understand the reasoning behind their refusal of free repair. However after the abysmal customer service from start to end, and feeling robbed of $1,000 due to poor quality, I'll be giving everyone who mentions the brand a fair warning regarding my experience.

Approximate cost: $1000
