Very convenient for Curtin University students, good value for money, and fantastic pizzas. Although not fantastic for dining in, not a lot of room.
My expectations were high because of other Dominos restaurants, and they were met by the Karawara branch.
Approximate cost: $5.90
I find McDonalds particularly lacking in the areas of quality and service. The food is pretty meh, and customer service is generally on the poor side. The food is, however, cheap, and some of the deserts or McCafe products are okay.
Jacksons has a great range of drawing and other artish supplies. The staff are friendly and willing to help you find what you're looking for. They stock a good selection of pens, markers, brushes, paper, mounting board, modelling clay etc
The Moon cafe has some really great food and a nice feel to it. I enjoyed dining in the grunge-style area out the back and the staff were very friendly. A good place for students.
This double-story bookshop rarely fails to have the books I am looking for. Everything is well ordered so it's easy to find a given item, and besides books Borders sells various stationery, toys and novelty items. My favourite thing about Borders is that it encourages browsing and has plenty of places to sit, read or have coffee.
The Angus & Robertson in the CBD is a large, well-stocked store and thus is a good place to go for books. The books are well-categorised and as such are generally easy to find. However, books at Angus & Robertson are often a few dollars more than the usual retail price.
Dymocks has a nice of range of books for different age groups and demographics. The staff are generally friendly, however, I find the shop has a closed-in, almost claustrophobic feel about it. This store also tends to stock mostly popular, well-heard of books, and as such lacks books from a wide range of Australian authors.
I have found Bunnings useful for various hardware-related things. It has an extensive range of products. The staff are helpful but don't always know where a given product is.
Shopping at JB Hi-Fi is generally effective because of the huge range of products available in-store. It's not too difficult to find what you're looking for and I have found prices to be competitive.
I did not expect much from this store because it's aimed at a different demographic. However, their was a satisfactory range of products and service was good. The quality of the clothing I purchased was also good.
