I had a cut here today. I rang in the morning and they managed to fit me in which was great. As I arrived, they let me know they were running behind time, that was fine too.
I did have to wait a little bit longer than I would have liked to get my cut, and my stylist was also attending a colour at the same time.
Overall, I did enjoy the experience. They offered me a tea or coffee, which was nice. Brought magazines over to read when I was waiting in the chair.
I have long hair and they trimmed my hair without making too short. For those of you with long hair, you know the feeling of trepidation you get when you go to get a cut, and you just want a trim and come out with really short hair.
The hairdresser gave really good advice, and was very friendly and patient. And it cost less than $60 which was good.
Overall, for a haircut in newcastle, I think the price was pretty competitive, and apart from the waiting time the service was really good.

Approximate cost: $60

I had an oven repaired, and they'll be coming to fix my cooktop later in the week. The people there are friendly and affordable. They focus on getting in as quickly as possible to fix your problem. They get it done with a minimum of fuss, and a maximum of friendly personality. They don't cost that much to get out either. No job so far has been too big.

I've been ordering through AOB for about six months now and they NEVER disappoint. They have tracked down books I thought were impossible to get a hold of and they do it at a great price. As far as I know they're an Aussie company, and they're always friendly and obliging via email. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone out there who loves books. Ask them if they can get something in if you can't find it on the website, they're really good at that.

A quiet pub for the local people of Tighes Hill. Not really a high brow establishment. A place where you can pop in for a beer and watch a bit of telly or Karaoke on Friday night with the locals.

I love this book store. For such a small town, Sunset B&M takes care of everything you can want. They're friendly and helpful. I went in one day looking for a book, and just talked to the man behind the counter. He found me something exceptional and was happy to take some time to help me find it. They're really passionate about what they do, and the store is always clean, tidy and really exciting to look through. I really highly recommend them to everyone in the area!

I had an emergency with one of my cats and had to take him to the emergency clinic in Newcastle. They cost me an arm and a leg. I took him in the next morning to Noah's Ark Vet Clinic and they were amazing. They looked at him straight away, took care of him and the cost was much less. Their prices were great especially considering I had to get both of my cats vaccinated. They were friendly and had great advice. I'm really happy to keep going back to them.

Chris Rowe creates moody pieces which can be purchased through his website, or at the Suspension Cafe in Newcastle. His prints are exceptional quality and I found it really affordable! It was great to be able to afford some 'art' to have in my house!

Approximate cost: $begins at $45

This review is for Anna Bay Tavern, Anna Bay NSW

Anna Bay Tavern is a favourite with my friends and I. We love to stop in for some lunch and a quick drink when we've been to the beach. The meals are charged at your usual 'pub fare' rates, but what comes out on the plates is exceptional! They're timely, but cafe/restaurant quality! Price wise, I think they're great value and keep coming back again and again.

Approximate cost: $10-20
