This review is for Bridges Bros, Hobart TAS

I often forget about this store when I'm shopping for toys, but Bridges Brothers do stock an excellent range of toys, and can order others in upon request.
The quality of the toys they stock is great and is slightly different from other toy stores. There are a lot of quality wooden toys etc, and an amazing range of fancy wooden doll's houses.
The price is often higher than other stores.
For example an item I wanted was $120 at most toy stores, but they sold it for $170. ouch!
I haven't found them to be cheaper than other toys stores and don't seem to have catalogue sales like other stores, but you do pay for quality.

Intimate Italian restaurant/bar located in Sandy Bay, which also offers takeaway. The food is OK but nothing special. I had a pizza which despite having all my favourite toppings actually had very little taste. Others in my party said the same things.

On Tuesday nights they have half price pizza and pasta, but be careful ordering the 'garlic focaccia' - it's actually a large sized pizza so it's suitable for about 4 people to share so don't order too many. As it's a 'focaccia' it's not half price on Tuesday although I'm not sure why because it really is a pizza!

Great outdoor mini golf course which offers 3 difficulty levels for each hole - some of which can be quite tricky! There's plenty of water obstacles, hills and a swinging boot to make it a challenge for the whole family.

Whether you're after stationery for wedding invitations, some party decorations or just some nice wrapping paper for a birthday present, Enwrapt has the largest range in Hobart. They have a huge range of stickers, wrapping paper, cards, party supplies, ribbons etc. which is perfect for any occasion.

This review is for Putters Adventure Golf, Moonah TAS

If you like mini golf, Putters is a fantastic place to entertain the kids, adults or have a children's party.

There are 2 courses to choose from - one indoors and one outdoors. The indoor course is held over 3 floors with the ball getting sucked up or pushed down to the different levels. Some holes are actually split over 2 floors.

Each hole offers something unique eg water windmills, split levels etc. The indoor course is completely indoors so you can play mini golf on a rainy day.

Set amongst the Tamar Valley Resort, this restaurant offers breakfast (buffet), lunch and dinner with a lovely view of the lake and golf course.

As it is set in a Swiss style village, I would have expected the restaurant to offer some Swiss food, such as raclette but there didn't appear to be anything Swiss on the menu which was rather disappointing.

The food is fine, just your typical restaurant choices of steak, curry etc. Very convenient if you're staying at the resort.

This review is for The Beach House Restaurant, Cafe & Bar, Dynnyrne TAS

I found this restaurant to be extremely over priced for the food they served. All portions were very small. I ordered a steak, which cost about $25, and it took only a few minutes to eat.

I think you pay for the location at this cafe not the food, as the range and quality of the food is not good compared to other places I go. It might be nice to sit at a table outside and have a drink on a nice warm day and look out at the beach, but I wouldn't go there again to eat a meal.

Other people must like it as it is usually busy.

This review is for Lansdowne Cafe, West Hobart TAS

The Lansdowne Cafe is a great spot to catch up with friends for a coffee. The cafe is fairly small and can at times feel over crowded, but it's nice to sit outside on a warm day and watch the world go by.

Some of the food can be a bit overpriced, particularly breakfast items.

This review is for Sharkra Health & Beauty, Hobart TAS

verified email - 31 Aug 2008

Sharkra Health & Beauty offers a range of health and beauty treatments including waxing, massages, facials, piercings etc.

My favourite treatment is the deluxe pedicure which takes about 75 minutes and costs about $75. I've tried most beauty places in Hobart and I think this has one of the most relaxing atmospheres. You don't have a therapist trying to make conversation andi nterrupting your quiet time!

While it's not the cheapest place around, you do get what you pay for and the extra money is definitely worth it.

This review is for Prince Of Wales Hotel, Battery Point TAS

This pub was renovated a few years ago and provides a nice atmosphere for lunch or dinner. The menu offers a good range of pub food at a reasonable price.

They have a carpark out the back for patrons, which is handy as it can often be quite difficult to park in Battery Point. You can access the carpark via a boomgate off Hampden Road.

Approximate cost: $20
