Good honest Mexican food in a cool setting. Indoor and outdoor seating makes this a great place to come with friends. Food is delicious, staff are friendly and not too expensive. Sit out on the corner at Williamstown and watch the world go by.

Since the first time I went to Viva Zapatas I haven't found a better Mexican restaurant. Their Paella is second to none and the Slushy Margarita's are great value compared to other places I've been. I'm always looking for a reason to return. :)

Viva Zapatas is a good place to go when you're craving a big plate of nachos! As far as the rest of the menu goes, the food is average. The serving sizes are good. Where they let themselves down, is the service. Very slow, not very attentive. Overall, an average place to go, but don't expect too much.

I have only been there once (and shall not be returning ever).

My husband & i were craving Mexican cuisine, and thought lets give this restaurant a try.

The chicken in the fajitas was with no flavour and did not seem very fresh, we were not impressed with the meals at all.

It was disappointing to have had a very ordinary meal after paying good money..... oh well what can you do!

We have had more good than bad meals at restaurants.

Thinking back i should have spoken up to the waitress serving us and told her politely that our meals were not satisfactory.

I've had the same experience here. Years ago, under different management, this place was great! Now it is sloppy and lazy.

Ordered a taco. The shell was stale. Taquitos were flavourless.
Only thing I enjoyed was the rice.

Waitress was over attentive at the beginning then no where to be seen toward the end.

Approximate cost: $15.00

Nice food in a great location. A bit expensive and the staff are not very attentive. Good for when you are craving Nachos!

I had the Nachos Supremos and it was great! I had the extras to it and it really made the difference, such as the beef and the chili con carne. The service could have improved as it wasn't very attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite fun with a Mexican theme.

Approximate cost: $19.00

We always enjoy ourselves at Viva Zapata's. The food and drinks are always reliably good - and the service is friendly although can be a bit slow at busy times. Worth a try.

great mexican food, went there for Valentines day, first time eating mexican, they suggested the entrees and mains, although busy still had the courtesy to come and see if we were enjoying our meal.

Saturday night, early....good to see the place is open from midday to late, giving you the option for an early dine out.
Waiting stuff a bit young and immature, but that's life today.
No mexican in Australia is going to equate to the real deal you find in Mexico and Southern USA, but this place is pretty good.
Decor not bad, but it is not that roomy and spacious.
Meal itself is reasonable, I love the Chilli Bread, that is a high recomendation.
Overall, one of the better mexican establishments in Melkbourne.

Approximate cost: $20
