Craving for an ice cream and Hobart was way too busy so headed to moonah for the best ice cream in tas! Four of us had a different type of ice cream and we all enjoyed them!

WOW what a delight to have a great selection of smooth, creamy, full of flavour icecream. This shop is icecream heaven. I am most impressed with the size of the "choc block" a selection of ice cream, fudge sauce, cream and waffers, I have had icecream at other places and this store is definately the BEST. Will be back.

Well I haven't been living in Tasmania long but WOAH is this the best icecream I have ever tasted!
My first experience was a vanilla I think icecream cake. It had frozen cream little bits all around it and the vanilla icecream had a creamy flavor to die for!! They also print edible toppings.
I also had a raspberry cake which was also delicious which is suprising because I don't normally like raspberries! It just had swirls through the vanilla and like both cakes it had this chocolate bits through it which were rich and sooo good!
So the vanilla is always amazing, I last bought english toffee which was really nice BUT I bought the chocolate fudge and really didn't like it it was quite plastic-ey but could have been maybe it was old? Unsure on that.
But the cakes are just so worth it, highly highly recommend for any occasion!!!

I've always loved Valhalla ice-cream, the quality is second to none. But they really impressed me recently when I needed a birthday ice-cream cake on short notice (the venue we'd booked usually had Valhalla ice-cream cakes but had run out). I called in the morning the day before the birthday and was able to choose the flavours and have a personalised transfer on top as well. I picked it up a few hours later, complete with candles. I'll definitely be going back to Valhalla for ice-cream cakes!

One of Tassie's best exports. My absolute favourite ice cream, so creamy and rich, and so many flavours to choose from. Always my choice for a real treat.

The store is small, but has seating. I've never tried anything else here except the ice cream!

The ice cream is a little on the expensive side, in comparison with the big brands like Peters etc, but the quality makes it worth every cent, and it's about the same as other brands of premium, "boutique" ice creams.

1 litre tub is about $8, I think - I generally buy it when it's on special for $7.

Absolutely the best Ice Cream Shop that I know.... The Sundaes are to die for, I found them to be a generous size, really great options you have to go back several times to get through them all...lol. The Savoury menu is really great too, and there is a comprehensive selections of drinks.

My mouth waters just thinking about Valhalla ice cream. It is one of the things I miss when I'm not in Tasmania. The ice cream is sooo rich and creamy - it is really wonderful. The range of flavours is good too. A bit on the enxpensive side but well worth it! It is a real Tassie icon!

Premium quality ice cream with a good variety of flavours to choose from. It's definitely great ice cream but is a bit pricey to buy as a take home tub.

Valhalla is a local Tasmanian made icecream which is sure to wow! They have some great flavours, with my favourite being their peppermint chocolate chip. You can buy take home tubs at a lot of shops, but why not go straight to the source where they actually make the icecream?
It's a cute little shop and you can access it from the bike track if you need a pit stop while you're having a family walk or ride.

this is a great place to get ice cream. they make all the ice cream on site! you can get anything from a simple vanilla cone to a boat that contains 6 different flavored scoops as well as chocolate sauce, nuts, cream, lollies and fruit! its the yummiest icecream!
