This place serves Japanese cuisine served tapas-style. We ordered 6 items between the two of us. We had the salmon sashimi bikes, fried chicken bites, soft shell crab, tempura baby squid, takoyaki (octopus bits in a round batter and grilled) and prawn skewers. With two Asahis, the bill was around $65 after a 25% Entertainment Book discount. Not bad. The food was delicate and exquisite and very tasty.
However, we made the mistake of not ordering rice or soup as filler. So whilst I was quite ok after the 6 tapas style dishes, my partner was still a bit hungry. To satiated our appetite, we ended up going to another restaurant for fried rice and fish slices.

Bonsai is definately a restuarant to go on a special occasion. Do not expect authentic japanese food as it's with new wave Japan/ chinese/ taiwanese's fusion foods. It is all about the ambience, modern, industry design restuarant with good foods - at least something different from others. Price is on the middle- high side:)
Approximate cost: $20
