My dinning experience at Veena was after being given a gift voucher (a groupon deal) to eat there as a present. The service was slow, probably due to staff shortage. We waited 2.5 hours for the mains and when the mains came out, the rogan Josh (which is meant to mild) was hotter than the vindaloo and the ratia arrived to our table when we had nearly finished our meals. The deep fried naan bread was strange to say the least. The cleanliness of the place was also lacking, the toilets were filthy. Which is no surprise to me as I would not return for sub standard food and such poor customer service.

Booked a table with another couple and both had pre-purchased meal vouchers. We were refused service because the vouchers were from different providers????? If we had reserved separate tables (one for each couple), we would have been allowed to have our meal. They were so rude about it also. Guessing they get the last laugh though as we have paid for a meal we didn't get........!

I love indian food, but WOW, this was not it! We ordered to take out, one serve of butter chicken to share and got laughed at when we asked for extra sauce. We also had 1 serve of rice, raita, mint sauce (or chutney if you will), papadams and garlic naan. On our way home the car smelled like deep fried chineese foods, which it usually never does when picking up indian. Butter chicken: Minus: sauce was bland i taste, very weak and sloppy and tasted more like weak gravy than anything else. Plus: chicken was well marinated and had a kick to it, but was dry. Papadams: was dissapointing, hard and tasted like oil. (I have made better from packets from the supermarket) Rice: Had overcooked, burnt bits in it and was patchy brown.. Mint sauce (chutney): Is usually green, but was white with a few green leaves which I assume was mint, but tasted like normal yoghurt. Which was very dissapointing for me as I LOVE mint sauce when it's made properly. Raita: was bland and watered down. Garlic Naan bread: Weirdest looking Naan I've ever seen, and quite boring in taste, but not the worst I've tasted. So food wise not the fiery and colourful experience you would expect from a Indian kitchen. I would like to add two more things. 1: They don't accept cards (eftpos) 2: We are members of a website that gives you vouchers and got one for Veena Tandoori (over 50% off a meal for two) and I must say I feel like it just builds up under the impression that they are out of money or don't have many costumers that frequent. Unfortunately, we will not recommend this place to anyone. If you want quality indian food, this is not it.

Hi, Just ate at Veena Tandoori, Brighton SA, today with the food being better than any place I had easten in Adelaide. The service was outstanding and I even gave a tip to one of the 2 of the waiters for outstanding service. What is everybody complaining about. Just because it may be a slighlty smaller restaurant than most, even the recent health inspectors commended the staff for how clean their kitchen was from what I heard and the food had the best Heygiene, simply impeccable, which is more than I can say for some Indian places.

This used to be an absolutely beautiful Indian restaurant, generous serves and fast service. We used to get take away from Veena quite regularly. That was up until about a year ago, when I assume it changed hands because suddenly the serves were tiny - my husband gets prawn korma usually and last time he only got about 4 prawns and I got 3 pieces of chicken in my chicken vindaloo, you get a lot less sauce as well, the whole serves are a lot smaller. Recently we thought we would give it another go - tried calling for 90 minutes and no one answered the phone - went down to the restaurant and discovered they no longer have eftpos, went and got money out and had to wait 45 minutes for our food - and it wasn't cheap either. Definately won't be going back, not good value for money at all.

I took my son and his friends to veena i normally go with my husband. we reached there around 7:00 quickly our drinks and food order was taken we dint ordered any entrees........after that we waited for around 1 hour before our food was served and fish was overcooked my son suggested to bring a well charged ipod or iphone if we dine next time. If there were negative stars available i'd give it a -3.
