Doing some more wine tasting with family we decided to just have something light to eat to carry us over until lunch. Service was a bit slow, but it was quite busy. We found the prices a bit high for what you receive, not very generous with the servings, well they did taste good, but not for the price.

Meeting with some friends here, the place is decidedly ideal. Very warm inside (was a cold day) and it made the whole experience feel like the day was a lovely day. The scenery is quite picturesque and the interior is lovely.
Ordered food and wine, expecting everything to go nicely. They gave us ample time to make selections and it seemed nice initially. Then it started going downhill.
Waitress came back to our table and didn't even wait to get our attentions, but put her finger to her lips and shooshed us. I mean WHAT???
The food sounded lovely, but didn't really come out that way. My partner has the beef, which was requested rare and came out rare on the inside (good) but burnt on the outside (not good). Because of the way it was presented, everyone at the table thought it was pork that someone else had ordered. Not a good start.
Mine was written as lamb saddle, but came out as french cutlets. Again, WHAT??? Do they not know their cuts of meat? 3 tiny floppy bits of cutlet that wouldn't fill up a cat. Add to this that the salad tasted a little burnt. How do you burn a salad????
I know it's a 'fine dining' situation, but seriously the portions were quite petite. For the prices we were paying, if the food's not that good, at least give us more of it to fill our stomaches.
And lastly, the sides. Oh the sides. At $8 a pop, one would think there's something substantial, or fundamentally special about them. Nope. The shaved zucchini salad was underwhelming and for that price you could get 3 things of something similar from Woolworths that tastes better. The chips, which came on the same plate as the salad (but were an item of themselves and cost $8) were laughable. You get more chips from one of those traditional hot chips cups from the corner deli. And they would have tasted about the same! I can't remember what the other side was. that's how memorable it was.
Our friends got garlic bread to start. That looked ok. That's about the only thing from this meal. Oh, and wine is wine. Comes out of a bottle. Can't get that wrong, but I shouldn't speak too soon. After all, they burnt a salad...

Anyway, enough said
Don't go there.

If someone from this establishment is reading this, I would love for you to prove me wrong. Post a reply if you dare.

I went here with some friends about 18 months ago and thought it was fabulous, with delicious food and great service. This certainly is disappointing to hear. Sounds like it has gone downhill since we were last there.

Went here with a couple of friends the other day, having a girls day out. We certainly picked a great place for lunch. Dining areas both in and outside with stunning views overlooking the vineyards. Whilst the prices are quite high, you certainly are rewarded with fabulous meals. Loved the way they were presented to us and the portions were very generous. The Pork Belly was popular among us as well as their Soft Shell Crab and grilled chicken with delicious tasting salads. They have a very interesting menu - variety. The service was excellent, very friendly. Very nice and comfortable dining areas. I cannot fault our dining experience it was excellent and will definitely be returning with my husband next time. Nearly forgot to mention, you must try their Shingleback wines, delicious, really went well with our meals. Definitely recommend!!!!!!!

Approximate cost: $35+
