10 reviews about TGI Friday's

As a LONG time patron of every TGI Friday's in this state, my partner and i were excited to learn a new one was being built not far from us, Forest Hill. This was a while back now. We eagerly tried it out and have been there at least 10 times now. Here's the problem. As per the usual TGI's menu, the food is delicious Americana style comfort food, and to be honest most of the time it's cooked well. The problem here is the service. I don't recall dining here once in those 10+ visits where something hasn't been stuffed up. Sometimes you have to wait an epic amount of time for drink refills also. The price is high for the food you receive, but that's always been the case. It's still great food, the only bitter taste tends to be the service.

We've been here a few times now, and the food is generally pretty good. The service usually starts off really well and then tapers off as the night progresses. So much so, that we usually end up having to go and search for a waiter so we can get a drink. We have the wrong thing delivered to us a lot, which is frustrating, but in the end it was quite laughable. Go there for the food, not for the service.

Although a tad expensive, the taste here for steak and ribs is unbeatable. The Jack Daniel's ribs is simply the best. Service here is excellent with attentive and friendly staff. Just be sure to ask for a booth closer to the entrance if you want less noise as it's really difficult to talk even to the person next to you during dinner when sitting in the middle of the restaurant.

Approximate cost: $40

I agree with you, the jack daniels sauce is so goid especially on steak!

Have to say straight up - VERY expensive. Even the cocktails.
Didn't think the food was amazing enough to justify the price, I think you pay more for the atmosphere and 'coolness' of where you are dining.
Staff are very much on the ball, coming over to ask if you need this and that - maybe a little too over the top.
$18.95 for a long island iced tea...
Very noisy on a busy night... wouldn't make a habit of dining here.

I think you are very true about TGi Friday. The food is a bit expensive and it is mainly for the atmosphere.

My daughter, grand daughter and I visited TGIF on Wed 27/6. This was my first time at TGIF. I ordered the fride maccoroni and cheese balls(yummo) and Jack Daniel Ribs, even more yummy. My grand daughter had kids hot dog. We couldn't eat it all. The ribs were just like the ones I had in California. Cost us $70.60 including soft drinks.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice meals, though a bit expensive. The place was fairly noisy and it was hard to hear each other.

I went to TGI Friday's last night with a group of friends. The staff were friendly and happy to answer questions about the food - what they recommended etc. I had baramundi with vegetables and chips - It was very tasty. My friends also enjoyed their meals. They have a few vegeteran meals (which is good because we had two vegetarians in our group). We also had a mini dessert for $4.95 which was quite nice. It was very packed when we went.

TGI is right next to Hoyts on Level 3 of Forest Hill Shopping Centre.

Enjoyable evening had by all.

Approximate cost: $25-$30 for a main

I went with my husband for dinner on a recent Saturday night. The place was very crowded but the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our food was served very quickly and with a smile. The 'Happy Hour' between 4pm and 7pm is great value. Yummy cocktails such as Strawberry Daiquires for $7.95! Saying that the food was very average and quite expensive considering the size of the servings. Take note they serve their Bruschetta cold! By the end of the meal we were both really full and felt a bit bloated !!!

Approximate cost: $32.50

Went here with a large-ish group, and found the service to be fairly slow. Also found that the food was OK, but was pretty cheaply made and you feel bloated by the end of it. The trick is to get there for the Happy Hours between 4pm and 7pm daily, for some reasonable drinks deals. The people are friendly enough, but it feels too gimicky to allow for good service.

First time I went, was disappointed by the size of the lunch special, so tiny, and they had no key lime pie. Decided to give it a second chance which was a big regret. The service was so slow! We called the wait staff three times to place our order and they kept saying "in a second". After 15 mins we finally ordered but then it took our food more than 30 mins to come. When we asked the wait staff they said "another 3 minutes" but waited another 10 mins. After our mains we ordered dessert and waited 10 mins, asked the wait staff and she said "they are just plating them" but we waited another 10 mins but then gave up and cancelled the order. The manager then apologised and said they were busy which is fine but don't lie to us and warn us in advance. Aside from the slow service, the servings are really small for the price we pay. I'm never going back there for sure!

Approximate cost: $25
