Beef teriyaki here ws quite nicely done as in terms of meat tenderness and actual taste. One of the nicer ones I have had actually, and well priced too.

I love dining at Roppongi. I have two small kids and they love it too. The chef will often entertain them as he is making the sushi. Another thing I like - being able to see the food being prepared. Some of the staff struggle a little with English but they make a huge effort to ensure customers are happy.

I have been here several times for dinner and been reasonably happy but not thrilled with the experience. However today I went for lunch and found the meal and service sub-standard. We had to ask 3 times for water before they remembered to bring it to us. My partner's meal was brought way before mine so he was nearly finished by the time mine came. I had the chicken teriyaki lunch box. The chicken was hard (overcooked or off?) and a small portion, much smaller than my partner's fish pieces lunch box which turned out to be crumbed and fried chunks of fish which were edible but not great. I also ordered a homemade lemon squash which came in a can. When I queried that it was supposed to be homemade the waitress came back with what tasted like Solo poured into a glass. When the miso soup finally arrived that was part of the lunchbox package, we were about to leave. To make matters more unpleasant a large table behind us let their 3 very young children run around the restaurant continuously, creating an atmosphere rather like being trapped in the middle of a Macca's play area. Needless to say we were in a hurry to leave and won't be returning.

21/11/12 Update: A few hours after eating at Roppongi I started to feel ill and by the evening I was quite sick with vomiting, diarrhea, cramps and fatigue. For the next 5 days I was too ill to eat and even 2 weeks later, while better I wasn't over it so I had a test done and it came back positive for salmonella poisoning.

I had a rotten meal followed by a rotten week of being bedridden with food poisoning. It was definitely the fault of Roppongi as I had only eaten toast that day and then the lunch with them - the chicken being the obvious culprit. I hope others who still choose to eat here do not suffer the same misfortune.

Roppongi is the best Japanese restaurant ever!!! The food there is spectacular and the presentation is just WOW! It is very traditional Japanese and you can even dine like traditional Japanese which makes it a wonderful experience. the staff are also wonderful.

Fantastic food. Have been going there for years and years. I love their Bento Boxes and the tempura. They have a sit down area as well but it is generally bookings only on weekends. It fills up quickly.

Very happy customer. I have been going there for 15 years and have never had a problem. Great food and service!

Really nice food, my 2 year old loves their egg rolls (sushi rolls with omelette in the middle). I love their California rolls. Their tatami room is excellent for larger numbers and is something a bit different.

A lovely little Japanese Restaurant, the only one in Wollongong's main part of town. The food is very nice and you can watch the sushi chef make your sushi at the little bar at the back of the restaurant. The Chicken & Rice is very yummy and the food is great value for money. Cute Japanese decor and informative friendly staff.
