I went to Pancakes on the Rocks with a group of 9 others last Sunday (29/07) at 5pm. No phone reservations were allowed so we had to queue for an estimated half hour outside the restaurant before getting seats.

We ordered a mix of their famous pancakes, crepes and grilled items. The guys polished off their crepes within minutes so I wonder if the crepes are portioned enough to be considered a main course.

The best dish, however, was not the pancakes (surprise, surprise) but their grilled items. Their beef ribs ($25.95) and pork ribs ($26.95) were fantastic and comparable to Hurricane's Grill & Bar's famous ribs. However, if I had to choose only 1, I would definitely pick the beef ribs. The beef is perfectly cooked, tender and it simply melts in your mouth. The pork ribs, on the other hand, are a tad dry but the barbecue sauce hides that well.

We shared the Devils Delight ($13.95) for dessert. This dessert normally consists of 2 chocolate pancakes (topped with strawberries and chocolate ice cream) but we were able to add on 2 additional slices of pancakes for just $2 each. While the presentation of the dish is great, the taste was slightly disappointing. The chocolate pancakes were thick and had a texture closer to a brownie than a pancake. This meant that the chocolate pancake had to be eaten with some kind of sauce or it would risk being too dry.

The service was prompt and there were no wrong orders, even though my friend's calamari took an extra long time to be served. The service crew was patient with my table and one of them even took the effort to return some keys that my friend dropped on his way out of the restaurant.

All in all, I recommend this restaurant for the great service (they do try their best) and good food. The beef ribs is a must try and if visitors want to have the pancakes, to remember to share an order between friends (trust me, it's too much to finish by yourself). Also, avoid adding any extra slices of pancake to ensure that there is enough sauce/ice cream to go round.

My friends and I enjoyed ourselves on Sunday and we will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in near future!

Approximate cost: $15

Sometimes the waiting time takes it's toll, but the food is really great and the pancakes are always generously served up with yummy toppings. Have been here in small to large group sizes but it has always been good.

Saw people lining up when I walked past so decided to line up too. Decided to order only pancakes because we already had lunch at Hurricane grill. The pancakes were so nice and fluffy. I had the strawberry and white chocholate ones and they were amazing.

The pancakes were yummy ! There are a wide selection of pancakes to choose from, either sweet or savory and the prices are quite reasonable. The restaurant also has a wide variety of drinks to choose from, whether it is the iced chocolate or the hot drinks they offer. However, it is important to either book seats or arrive early at the restaurant, as it is quite a popular location. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, with a lovely atmosphere for a friends day out.

What can i say? Cheap! Tasty! Food for everyone! Pancakes on the rocks will be a treat for everyone. The food - crepes, pizzas, steak and of course PANCAKES- priced very well. Good atmosphere, great family environment and a huge range of delicious pancakes. I recommend going during the week- avoid holidays if your in a rush.

An icon of Sydneys restaurants for Pancakes and more, for good service and some great desserts this Pancakes restaurant will be there. open 24/7 so you can go after the clubs and have a stack of Pancakes with crispy bacon and their delicious maple syrup. All good.

Delicious pancakes! i enjoy the savory ones.
There is always a long line to get in though.
The place is quite big and can get bit noisy when too busy.

An extremely delicious and tasty pancakes are provided in this restaurant. Banana pancake is my favorite and you should try it! Prices are a bit expensive but soon, you will know it is worth.
