I'd had a small leak for sometime and knew it wouldn't be a big job. I explained that on the phone, and Mick was still happy to come out. Mick arrived on time exactly as he said he would, he was efficient fixing my leak quickly, and absolutely lovely. I'd definitely use him again.

We found Mick after being let down by a few other plumbers who either inflated the job, or said they would come when they did not.

Mick is a friendly, no-nonsense guy. He's a gentleman in what can sometimes be a prima-donna industry. He comes on time when he says he will, he will answer your questions over the phone without coming on a "call" and charging you. He does all the small fiddly jobs which other plumbers won't touch or will charge you and arm and a leg for.

He has done various jobs around our house - replacing spouting, installing new fittings and fixtures to a toilet which was constantly running. Others wanted to replace the whole thing - Mick came in and diagnosed the problem, even told us the parts to get from the plumbing supply shop if we wanted it to fix it ourselves.

At the moment he's in the process of advising us about installing a new stove and rangehood. He came to check that the stove has the right connections (it's English) and to see how the rangehood/bench height thing works out. He also told us about the new regulations at to fireproof splashbacks (no tiles). This was not a paid call.

He'll be back to do actual work, and then his charge is always very reasonable.

Only drawback with Mick is that he's not a young man and I wouldn't ask him to do any roof work.

He also doesn't mind inquisitive kids following him around and asking questions.

Very highly personally recommended.

Approximate cost: $Very reasonable cost. Great work for a good price.

Mick was rude and unhelpful. Took 3 attempts at him to call me back - should have known! First 2 times he said to call him back after Melbourne Cup day, 'cos i'm busy'. 3rd time I called him back I got this response:

'I only do little jobs - not interested!'. Wow Mick you must have lots of work on mate to be so rude to potential customers. I'll take my $6,000 elsewhere (not that you wanted it!) Good luck!!!

Approximate cost: $6500

I'd been let down badly by another plumber who left my builder and I without a toilet and without water, saying he'd be back the next day to finish off. Next day came and he was a no-show. I needed help and fast! I found Mick right here on womo and called him, he got me to call back that evening. He was out the next day and doing my plumbing!
He's got a great system going with his customers - you pay him an hourly rate and you buy the materials & hardware needed. I bought tap sets for my bathtub and laundry from Bunnings the day before, and bought whatever else we needed from McCanns on Williamstown road with Mick the next day (and got trade discount!).
Our house had been "fixed" by a frankenhandyman years ago and the toilet and laundry taps ended up being very difficult jobs, which Mick did without complaint and only a bit of swearing. We now have a working toilet and running water again which my builder is very happy about. I was so pleased at having a plumber that actually started and finished a job on the same day I took Mick for a bite to eat and chat to say thank you.
My advice if you do hire Mick is that you be very clear with your instructions and make him coffee, he appreciates it when he's looked after. He was at my house from 7.30am till after 2pm and only charged me for four hours. I saved over $350 using Mick and buying the materials with his trade discount compared to the other plumber. He loves doing the small fiddly jobs that other plumbers don't like doing, he looks after his customers and he's a genuinely lovely man.
Cannot recommend him highly enough!

Approximate cost: $200 + $340 in materials

I found him on WOMOW and he was fantastic. Punctual, friendly and efficient for a very small job. It was a job that had to be done by a plumber with the right tools but only took a few minutes. His price was very reasonable.

Mick has been our plumber for years. He does a lot of our smaller jobs that other plumbers would simply not do. The things he has done for us are replace 2 gas plates (at different times), install a new sink, raise a tap when we got a new deck, remove tree roots that grew into our toilet system twice, and finally replace a gas hot water system. Our hot water system started dripping (as he had warned us a couple of months before it was on its way out) and was able to come a couple of days later and on a Saturday no less, $150 for the gas hot water replacement is the only figure I can remember)
