First time eating at Lambs.
Always walk past and drool at the meat on the spit.
Bought a lamb kebab and ate in the restaurant.
Huge restaurant and not busy on Sunday at lunch.
Huge amount of tasty charred lamb.
Couldnt eat it all.
Needed more dip though.
Very impressed.
Will be back

Out of all the fabulous Greek restaurants in Melbourne I have no idea why we decided to give this one a go while walking Lygon Street. While I think this place would be great if you wanted a greasy late night kebab to go it certainly isn't a place you would choose to go have a casual mid-week dinner at. The food was not dine-in quality at all and ordering the food was incredibly painful given the waitress did not have any knowledge of what was on the menu - I doubt she even had any knowledge of Greek food as she had no idea what was in a moussaka. I don't usually mind paying $22 for a moussaka but the mains were all cold-to-luke-warm and came out at the same time as our entrees - Being a party of 4 we were we sat at a table for 4 but this certainly didn't accommodate both our entrees and main meals plus our drinks.
Really disappointing to say the least...

Excellent review. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy Greek food but will certainly be giving Lambs a wide berth thanks to your review!
Not good to hear about the service!
I have found the souvlakis are nicely cooked, very tasty. But definitely I would go there for a quick take away meal.
Thanks for the detail, which is always appreciated!
We often go to lambs because it is one of our locals. Their souvlakis are great but we find them too big so we often buy one for lunch and share it amongst the two of us. The lady behind the counter is really sweet - I think she is a member of the family - and she always remembers us and gives us a little extra special. I think that is the secret of a good business - good food and good service.
the souvlakis are delicious, the meat is so tender and melts in your mouth
the sauces taste homemade (not sure if there are or not)
i cannot comment on the other dishes served in the restaurant, as i always get a souvlaki when i dine there
Approximate cost: $10.00
yumm nothing beats homemade sauce (or a close equivalent)
Nice easy shop to find on the corner, they make great kebabs and are open late if you are on your way home from a night out. If I go in the daytime and sit in to dine, I always get the mousaka with salads, and other side dishes like vine leaves. Service is quick.
Another great souvlaki shop, and plenty of seating. Staff may not seem very friendly or like they do not want to be there, but the souvlaki makes up for it. I recommend the mixed souvlaki.
Always plan to stop here for a souvlaki whenever I'm passing through. The meat is tender, the salad fresh, and the sauces are tasty. Cannot fault the food. Been coming here for years.
Approximate cost: $8
these kebabs are great, tasty and fresh and are super cheap for great value,
better to take away as it is cheaper, more expensive if you are seated
great customer service
Approximate cost: $11
I am not a big fan of kebabs as a rule but have always found that the meat at Lambs is really tasty and their kebabs are great, it's the only place I will go for a kebab
We have always gone to Lambs, though recently it wasn't as good as it used to be. We were a little disappointed... too salty and not as much filling as they used to use. Still yummo and if we're in town, we will stop in to get a souvlaki.
Approximate cost: $10.00
