My family and I had a wonderful dining experience at Junee Ex-Services Memorial Club. We were camping at the Caravan park which is a little further out of town on the same road.

It's a large and quite modern building and there's two parts to Broadway Street. The Club is accessed from a "service road" off the main street. Plenty of parking. Watch out which door you go in through. Besides the main door at the front, there's also a side door. We went in here as it's closer to the car park and ended up in someone's auction during a function in one of the other rooms.

Going back in the front door, we were able to meet someone, sign in and make our way to the back where the dining room is. They were very solicitous of our children to make sure they were not going anywhere near the gambling section as the bar where you get drinks was right by here. It's always annoying to go back and get refills so we ended up getting a couple of jugs of soft drink and that worked out cheaper.

We had a wonderful meal - both Chinese and Australian menu available. Huge servings and just delicious. Two of us had the fish which came with piles of chips and salad. There was also a very nice pasta bolognese and sweet and sour chicken dish. Kids meals with small pastas or nuggets and chips were available and good value.

They were served promptly as we sat at a large and comfortable table. Some of us couldn't finish the amount of food we got, but it was no use taking it back to the tent - no way to keep it fresh and warm it up.

We felt welcomed and looked after and I wouldn't hesitate to go back here again. We don't drink or play the machines so I can't comment on that side of it.

Approximate cost: $15

Stop off to use the toilets and put a few dollars in the pokie machine...then went to get a coffee...the coffee machine was broken and they hadn't allowed any other alternative...no coffee...plenty of hot water, sugar and milk but no coffee...we had a long trip to Melbourne ahead of us and nothing in the town was open that time of night...just wanted a coffee...big letdown...they could have got some coffee from out the back i am sure of...just for an emergency like this...poor service

Approximate cost: $30.00
