I followed Emily to Judy Mackay Hairdressers, and she was great. Lovely, very personable, a good haircut and colour. Like most hairdressers today, I think they charge too much, but $150 for cut, semi permanent colour and blow dry seems to be the going rate. Unfortunately, Emily has moved on and I have not tried the other hairdressers yet. Definately worth going to if you are local.
Approximate cost: $150
The hairdresser had a friend present and was too busy talking to her about private matters to ask for more than cursory information about what I wanted. As a result, with her first cut she cut my hair much, much too short. Her response was to tell me it would grow back! The salon seems to cater for mature ladies, so perhaps are not experienced with guys cuts or modern styling. The lack of communication and attention means I did not at all get the cut I wanted. Care has been taken with the ambience of the shop and it is well presented.
This salon has the best magazines. Not just the Womens Weekly but Gourmet and House and Garden which makes sitting for ages so much easier! The salon is really great at fitting you in in an emergency.
Judy is a fantastic business woman. Nothing is too much for her. Sheo is a very good hairdress, experienced in all styles and very good at colouring hair. She manages a well trained staff who look after everyone's needs/
Approximate cost: $60.00
“I have been a client of Alicia for many years. I have quite thick, coarse hair.”…
