You get what you pay for. Small but clean room. Basic furnishings. No frills. But when you are paying a budget price you expect budget accommodation.

No complaints here.

We needed to fly to Sydney and stay for one night. Not wanting to spend much money, we decided to choose Formule 1 because it is very reasonably priced, and for the length of our stay we didn't need anything flashy. I liked that it was in walking distance from the airport, and it had three take away restaurants pretty much outside the door. The rooms were small and simple, as would be expected by the price. We had two rooms, and were shocked when we checked the second room, as we found someone had stretched a condom over the coat hooks on the bathroom door. They obviously didn't take much care when cleaning the room, which made me paranoid about how dirty everything else might be. My friend requested they re-clean the room, which they did straight away. After the function we attended we returned to get some sleep before flying back to Victoria in the morning. The walls are paper thin, so the noise from everyone else's rooms is very clear and loud. The beds were not very comfortable, and we requested extra pillows because they are so thin it feels like you don't even have one. There was only one blanket on the bed, and the temperature in the rooms was not regulated very well. It did the job for us though as we were only there for a quick nap really. I wouldn't recommend them for a longer stay. The staff at the desk were friendly when approached, and there was always someone there. You really do get what you pay for.

My husband had an overnighter in Sydney and chose to stay here close to the airport. There's a shuttle bus which goes to both terminals, but you have to pay for it. If you want to go into Sydney then you have to get your own transport.

The room was very basic, but I guess that's what you get for the price. But there were certainly no extras of any kind. Not even a tea/coffee facility which is pretty standard in any other accommodation we've stayed in.

Staff were borderline - fairly disinterested in being helpful at all. Room was reasonably clean and bed was okay for one night. Macdonalds is the place to go for breakfast and free wifi.

So, it's a place to sleep which isn't a bench in the terminal and adequate for it's purpose.

Approximate cost: $Around $100

Yes, the best thing it had going for it was the price.
