We had lunch here on a lovely day.
This cafe is, shall we say, rustic. The interior is deceptively large, with homely features and a large open fireplace which would be lovely in winter. There are also tables outside in the sun, in the garden.
Much of the food is housemade, which one would expect, being a bakehouse cafe.
The shoestring fries and salad accompanying pies etc are generous. $12 with fries and salad, $5.50 without.
The coffee cups are larger than normal so the drinks were generous also.
One turn-off - we asked for a little cream to go with our cake and it was the stuff that comes out of a can.

Approximate cost: $20

We ate lunch at the Bakehouse last weekend with some friends. We were in town for the Flinders Market and thought we'd have a quick bite to eat. The place was jam packed when we arrived but we managed to grab a table as another group left.

Put off by the high prices for most lunch items we ordered a few sandwiches. For $8 they were pretty light-on, the bread was not particularly big and there was hardly any chicken in my chicken sandwich. The worst thing though was that we have asked for no butter and there was a thick spreading of butter in addition to the mayonnaise.

Normally I would have taken it back and asked for another one but we have to get our 2 year-old home to sleep.

Approximate cost: $8-$25
