travelled 4hrs to test drive a vehicle that was sold under my nose!
Grindon had week long correspondence from myself confirming trade in detail and opportunity to view vehicle.
Night before I confirmed with him that vehicle had not been sold and that I would be making the trip down, when I arrived no vehicle in yard...he’s response your to late!

My wife and I received very professional and friendly service here when buying a used car recently. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were confident in our decision, both before and after we'd signed the papers. Ended up getting a great deal, and the team were helpful every step of the way - answering questions about the car's history and paperwork and fixing some issues we'd identified without any fuss. Staff were also highly knowledgeable and thorough. Overall a very happy experience!

A friend purchased a near new vehicle from them. All the sales man did was sit back while he did all the work arranging valueations and inspections. On ethe day of day of delivery there was uncompleted paperwork which he was told would be filled in later so just sign where required. Was keeped waiting almost 1 hr passed the agreed time.
After having to rush around to make sure that his finance company paid Eastside Mitusbishi for the vehicle before he could take delivery the salesman then told him that he would have to wait until the following week to receive the money for his tarade in.
The vehicle was advertised with anumber of extras that where not supplied still chancing those up almost 6 weeks later
After everything was com

I left Eastside Mitsubishi Nunawading today after an experience that's worth sharing - a mistake that I expect never to repeat!

It all started two weeks back on Saturday 1/9/2012 when I visited the dealership with my wife to look at pre-owned Outlanders and ASXs. I met with Grindon, who was the used car manager or the salesperson, who showed us around. There were a couple of Outlanders but we were particularly looking for one with 6 airbags, 4WD, white or black and having other options like reverse parking sensors / cameras as safety was one of our key requirements. This was when the other sales person (was he the fleet manager?) joined in. Can't remember the name – Garry, Geoff ? - but let's call him Mr.BS (y'know like “Business and Sales”). There was a nice 2011 MY11 with all things except for the extra airbags and I asked whether they were expecting any other like that one with the extra airbags and to our great joy, Mr.BS told us that one was expected in 4 days (Wednesday 5/9). He compared that with the MY11 and said that the only difference will be the extra airbags (perfect!) and therefore, I said that I am happy to make a deposit to secure it and to get the ball rolling and that I'd come for an inspection on Wednesday.

So, I signed the contract of sale, subject to inspection and finance, for $22,990 and paid a $200 deposit. I didn't hesitate as I expected professionalism and honesty. I also asked Grindon to send me details about the vehicle, the RAVC inspection (which he was happy to throw in) and any upgrades (e.g. SatNav, immobiliser, reverse parking camera) that I can get done through Mitsubishi along with the pricing.

On Wednesday 5/9/2012, I got pre-approval for my loan application (now, this was for a 2011 Outlander) and I requested from Mitsubishi, more details on the model, specifications, price, Kms done and the order form (I didn't get a copy of the contract on Saturday - yeah, I know!). I was then informed that the delivery had got delayed and the vehicle was now expected on Friday 7/9/2012 and that it should be ready by Saturday (8/9/2012). This was rather disappointing for me but I said “that's OK”. Come Friday, I contacted the dealership to check on the vehicle and to see what's happening to my request for details, where I was informed that the delivery has been further delayed and it was now expected on Monday 11/9/2012. Again, disappointment.

On Monday, I received the scanned copy of the contract of sale and searching the VIN I learn that it is a 2010 MY 10 that had been on sale for $18600 at Pickles Dubbo (so my price is reasonable). Saw its pics in google cache and it was different to what I expected – one prominent thing was a bull bar! I sent the contract of sale to the bank agent and he then informed me that the interest rate need to be increased as the manufacture year is 2010 and not 2011 as initially thought. Another surprise. At this point, me and my wife are having second thoughts about the whole thing and it doesn't quite feel right at all. The vehicle finally arrives Monday evening and I went for a quick look, and I am told that it will be cleaned and ready by Saturday (today – 15/09). The vehicle doesn't have reverse parking sensors which prompted me to ask about upgrade options / packs. The response is that it is not possible for some things I need to be retrofitted through Mitsubishi and it's also not cost effective. Not looking positive. Grindon may have sensed my dismay and assured me that there's no problem if I say 'NO', as selling it to someone else won't be a problem for them.

Today, I went there with my wife and it was ready for inspections with just a bit of touching up to do. Yep, the bull bar is still there and removing it would probably leave the two mounts poking out from the front of the vehicle (or would have to replace the front grille). Grindon asked us whether we like to go for a ride but we said, honestly, what we feelt and that it is not the one for us and that we are sorry if our decision caused any grief. He was sort of OK with it but not MR.BS.

Grindon showed us a couple of other Outlanders – most of which were outside our budget - and after asking him to let us know if anything else comes up, we came towards the entrance of the used car sales office to leave. That's when the questions started coming from Mr. BS and not in a pleasant manner at all! First, he wanted to know why we didn't like it as we had seen pictures of it before signing the contract! I told him that we hadn't seen any pictures before the contract signing and what we saw was a MY11 without a bull bar, and that this whole thing hadn't gone the way we expected. I didn't really needed to explain why I didn't like the vehicle after the inspection but as Mr.BS wanted to 'understand' (I seriously fail to understand which part of “We Don't Like It” he didn't understand!) I clarified. Then it got a bit heated up as Mr.BS started to argue, which was really unacceptable – coming from someone who represents Mitsubishi (or is he?) - about certain things like the year or manufacture and the model. My response was that
I basically don't find the vehicle to my liking, especially, since there's disagreement about the model and the year of manufacture of the vehicle (discrepancy between what Mr.BS claimed and what's online)
The vehicle is different to what was agreed to (e.g. no reverse parking sensors and a bull bar that I don't want)
I have to go with a higher rate of finance than initially expected.
The whole thing had too many interruptions (/'Obstacles') and there's a bitter taste to it. This is a show stopper given my cultural background.

And I said that I will stop it at that and there's no point in discussing further.

By this point, I was utterly disappointed and appalled at the behaviour and attitude of Mr.BS. I can say that I will never consider buying a vehicle through Nunawading Mitsubishi again. I know that Grindon was helpful and did whatever he could to build a relationship but the 'encounter' with Mr.BS has left me thinking it's not really worth it and the trust will never be there. I will buy an Outlander hopefully soon but not from Nunawading.

I also think (believe me, I don't play the r*** card) that Mr.BS's response would probably have been different if I were Caucasian.

Pity I didn't check these reviews before my first visit as it would have saved me he trouble.

Approximate cost: $22990

Worst car experienced in my life. Their salesman is a con and beware of whatever thing they say and asked you to sign. They changed my old contract to a new contract and this was done in the last minute without me noticing it and i already paid the total price for the old contract. Also if you opt for tinted windows, they would lie say it will done in the production in Japan but they actually ask someone else here to do it for them. This upset me and now whenever i look at the new car i feel sick to my stomach of being ripped off. They're crook and I told my friends and family to watch out for these guys and avoid them in the future.

We came away from Eastside Mitsubishi feeling the same way but thankfully we didn't buy there. They are the "old school" car salesmen that try lots of tricks. Very disappointed and it was the first Mitsubishi dealership we tried.

While the price was great, we found the sales staff too pushy...to the point where a sales team member visited us without invitation to get a contract signed at the end of the month.

After visiting numerous car dealerships, I finally found the car I was after, but most importantly, staff that I felt comfortable with. A test-drive was not too much hassle, a drop in cars to suit my budget did not get shown with disdain, and the finance manager did all he could to not stooge me. The offer stood, whilst I visited other dealerships, but the deal was already done, thanks to the staff at Eastside Mitsubishi I am now the proud owner of a Lancer.

We've visited all of the local car dealers looking for the right ute. Mitsubishi is the place to go! Not only are their cars top quality, they offer an excellent warranty! At Eastside Mitsubishi the service is top quality too, polite, patient, friendly... I'm female and I felt very comfortable! We got a reasonable deal with our trade-in and after some haggling we settled on a price which was very, very close to what we wanted. They offered some attractive deals with finance and insurance, but at the end of the day you've got to be comfortable. I elected to stay with my own finance provider and insurance company.... some prior knowledge helped me make my decisions. There was no pressure at all and all of my questions were answered satisfactorily.
