Frustrating
Told over the phone to book in for dinner and $10 dollar deposit required, booked for 7:30pm. Got there and my booking was incorrect, it said 6:30pm, then found out I was charged $20 deposit. Ok fixed the time and I can use the 20 for extra drinks. Seated at 7:15pm, no service for drinks or food by 7:49pm so we decided to leave without food or a single drink, even after having asked 3 waiters for service. Not good enough.

This is a really great place. Despite the boring name. But I suppose it's better than "Working Man's Club" which is what it used to be called . LOL You don't have to be sport mad to enjoy the meals and atmosphere here. But all that aspect of it is there if you want.

It's a bit tricky to find, you turn left away from Altona and look like you're heading into no-man's land. It's actually in Seaholme. Parking is ample and there's always a welcome for you as you go in the door.

The dining room is down the back of the building, large but not so large that it spoils the nice feel of the place. To the left of the dining room is a bar and stage where there was karaoke the night we were there.

The service was excellent and friendly. Meals were delicious and enjoyed by all ages. Bay View Bistro on Sunday Night All You Can Eat Buffet $18. per head. Dinner Tuesday – Thursday 6pm to 8pm. Friday & Saturday 6pm to 9pm Sunday 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Great value - chicken schnitzel and chips and salad around $16. Lots to choose from.

There are other bars and lounges and LOTS of entertainment.

The best of these clubs that I've been to in this area. And all this right by the lovely ocean.

Approximate cost: $20 av.

I had my wedding reception at this place in 2006 and it was AWESOME! We hired out the BAC room which has water views. We paid per head for a banquet, back then it was $25PP (we had 100 guests) and this included the event planner at the time, Helen, decorated the place as well in the colours we chose. I didnt see the room decorated until I walked in from the evening and I was gobsmacked! It looked beautiful. To this day, I still cant believe how stunning it was for the cost of it! The food was a buffet, with the usual buffet style foods, lasagne, roast meat, vegetables, salads etc. But we got to chose all of that. I definitely reccomend this place.

Cheap food here, great views of the sea. Food is pretty much mostly deep fried, but really really large portions. You will be dining with the background music of pokies.

Approximate cost: $19
