I found this place very disappointing. After a great day at the beach, we wandered up to get some fish and chips. The place was packed - which was to be expected - but we were waiting nearly half an hour just to be served, and then another hour for our food. Flake was $6.50 for only a small piece, and the food was very greasy and didn't taste fresh at all

they have lovely food here and it is nice and close to the beach,they offer quite a large variety of takeaway food i really enjoyed my hamburger with the lot the burger was very tasty and had plenty of toppings

On a balmy evening what could be better than fish and chips down at the beach? Well, there's the crowds (between 7.00 and 8.00 they are big) but we ordered and went for a walk along the pier while it was cooking.

This fish and chip shop (they also have take away chicken) has been here in Altona forever. They are the last shop in Pier street before you get to the esplanade and the beach so are very handy as well as popular.

They are very much a no-nonsense place. Just good fish and chips - nice flake and lovely potato cakes with crunchy batter and good thick cut chips - basic shop area and then a couple of tables on the footpath.

Go across the road to sit on the grass under the pine and Moreton bay fig trees to enjoy your treat. But if you go in daytime watch out for the hungry seagulls.

Parking can be a bit of a problem but you can use Coles car park just a street away.

A very enjoyable evening after a long working week. Take a rug and a ball and stay in the park a while or play on the beach. Lots of families around and an alfresco Mediterranean atmosphere on a warm night.
