I had a great experience buying my year 12 formal dress here a few years ago.. they were nothing but helpful and amazing after a long day looking for a dress and not finding one to walking in and finding the dress right in front of me! The staff were beyond helpful and the prices were great.. great range of products!

I'm really surprised to see some of these reviews which has triggered me to leave my own, being that I have had nothing but the best experience with Newcastle bridal. I had heard about the store before I started looking for a gown (both good and bad) but I decided I could only judge on my own experience. As it turned out I found the gown I adored at this store, and from the time I ordered to the time I collected my gown, the staff really couldn't do enough for me! I will be recommending them highly to every one I know, and I would urge other customers to not be deterred by these few disgruntled customers!

I went to the Newcastle store of Newcastle Bridal house early in 2010 and ordered a dress for my daughter's formal. They were all very friendly and accommodating when you are still the potential customer, but wait until they have your money!

We found the dress we wanted negotiated a price and then ordered it by placing a deposit. We made regular payments one of which we were not given the change and called a liar when we pointed this out.

When finally it arrived or when they finally told us it arrived, as we had to keep chasing this up, we rang to say we would come in a try it on. We were told that was fine, nothing about monies to be paid or appointments.

When we arrived we were kept waiting over 15 minutes without acknowledgement or even a friendly smile. We sat down to wait, and then the manager (as we were to discover later) said she wouldn't be long. I commented that we had already been waiting some time, and that is when the attitude started. She said we should have had an appointment and that they don't allow you to try on dresses until all monies have been paid. I said I wasn't paying off the rest of the money until I had seen the dress and was assured that all was right with it. She said she doesn't make mistakes, but when my daughter came out of the fitting room, it was the wrong dress. We pointed this out and the manager said “that is why we don't allow you to try them on till they are paid for, now it is soiled'. My daughter felt dirty. They then decided they would put in an order for the correct dress.

I went home and after talking to some friends they urged me to ring and complain. I rang their Boolaroo store to find out who the Manager was, she urged me to tell her what was wrong by making me believe that she was the manager, and so I explained what had occurred. She told me she would call me back. She then called the Manager and told her what I had said, who then called me and told me she didn't want to deal with me and to come and get my money.

I went to Ferrari's at Charlestown and explained all that had occurred. They were so lovely and reassuring and straightaway got onto the manufacturers to have the order diverted to them. It was an original and spoke to the Manufacturer myself. (there had been comments made by another Bridal House to make us believe they sold only copies) They got it in time, matched the price and had lovely jewellery and Tiara's at a fraction of the price. My daughter looked wonderful on the day despite The Bridal House.

A work colleague had problems as well with an order she placed with colour and the wrong date and the same rudeness. She is still waiting with baited breath to see if it will arrive before her wedding in February.

Approximate cost: $350

Sounds horrible :( I had a bad experience at their Newcastle store too, luckily I didn't buy anything from them! They came across as very unprofessional!

NEVER USE THIS SHOP! I purchased a wedding gown from this shop but needed the dress to be altered, this was all offered on the day of purchase..I took the dress back 2 months before my wedding to be altered, First of all I had to pay upfront for my alterations to be done, when I went to pick my dress up a month later, it was ruined, the assistant called the seamstress to come inspect my dress, she came through from eating luch, she wiped her hands accross her back side, never put gloves on and touched my dress, she then burped in my face..After receiving much attitude from her she claimed the dress could be fixed..When I returned a week later to pick the dress up, it was not fixed, she went on to say that she cannot do anymore to my dress and that I will have to just wear it like this, as no one else will notice on my wedding day! I then went to the owner of this store at another branch and explained to her I was unhappy about the service I received at her store and that I would like her to refund me as I had to take my dress elsewhere it be fixed. She then called me a liar! I have however taken my dress somewhere else to be fixed as all the work at to be redone!

Approximate cost: $1275

This business provides a wide range of services for the bride-to-be. From average priced bridal gowns and shoes, to flowers and bomboniere, this is almost a one-stop bridal store. The staff are quite friendly and they offer onsite alterations.

It is so obvious this is either the manager or employee!
